NIC 2011 Adolescent & Adult One Day Class Schedule
How to Register
To register for any of NIC’s One Day Classes just call, email, fax or walk into lobby at the NIC Main Office in Lakewood:

- Registration and pre-payment is mandatory to attend all One Day Classes
- Personal checks are not accepted
- Payments by credit/debit cards are accepted over the phone, or in person at the NIC Main Office in Lakewood only, from Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm.
- Payments by money orders are acceptable and can be delivered to the NIC Main Office listed above via mail or in person.
- If you are not able to attend a class, you must provide notice of cancellation during regular business hours to the NIC Main Office in Lakewood at least 24 hours in advance of the class. A cancellation fee will be charged for non-attendance without 24 hours notice.
One Day Classes
NIC’s One Day Classes are interactive, hands-on, and designed to provide attendees with a wide range of perceptual and practical options for maintaining a prosocial lifestyle. NIC’s dynamic Trainers integrate NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with the best research on the specific topic that precipitated an adult or adolescent’s court involvement.

Ethics and Victim Empathy (Teen or Adult)
Ethics and Victim Empathy Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with practical strategies for identifying and realigning core values and personal identity by challenging incongruencies, enhancing impulse control, understanding the impact of personal choices on self, others, and community, and clarifying pro-social ethics and values to create better prosocial decision making skills. Role-play and group dynamics are utilized to heighten impact of crime on multiple levels. Details are elucidated and integrated relative to writing victim empathy letters.

DUI Level I (2-day)
Our DUI Level I program is a 2-day class that integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with strategies from the Driving With Care Curriculum.

Ethics (Teen or Adult)
Ethics Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with practical strategies for identifying core values, challenging incongruencies, providing strategies for realigning values, and establishing prosocial decision-making.

Female Offenders (13-18 Years)
Female Offenders Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with practical strategies for helping adolescent females establish healthy personal, interpersonal, and legal boundaries in the context of heightened awareness about potential pitfalls unique to adolescent females.

Interactive Family Day: For Parents of Challenging Teens (Teens attend Free)
Interactive Family Day: For Challenging Teens Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with family hierarchy, teenage brain development, generational trauma, self-regulation techniques, power and identity, and healthy relational strategies.

Interactive Parenting: From a History of Hurt to a Vision of Tomorrow
Interactive Parenting: From a History of Hurt to a Vision of Tomorrow Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with developmental stages, impact of trauma (domestic violence, verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, substance abuse) on children’s development, and developing healthy boundaries, rewards and consequences.

Marijuana Abstinence Program (MAP) (Teen or Adult)
Marijuana Abstinence Program integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with understanding of rationalizations and other defense mechanisms driving marijuana use, honest self-assessment, impact of marijuana use, ‘group thinking,’ freedom challenge, identifying abstinence team, and creating relapse prevention plans.

Minor in Possession (MIP) (Under 21 Years Old)
Minor in Possession Program integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with understanding of rationalizations and other defense mechanisms driving alcohol use, honest self-assessment, impact of alcohol use, brain development, ‘group thinking,’ freedom challenge, identifying sobriety team, and creating relapse prevention plans.

Petty Theft (Teen or Adult)
Petty Theft Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with understanding of rationalizations and other defense mechanisms driving theft behaviors, honest self-assessment, impact of theft on self, others, and community (victim empathy component), and creating prosocial strategies for self-efficacy.

Pre-Teen Young Offenders (10-12 Years)
Pre-Teen Young Offenders class is for children ages 10-12 years of age. The class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with practical strategies for helping pre-teens identify their core values and challenge any incongruencies, to establish healthy personal, interpersonal, and legal boundaries and implement prosocial decision-making.

Responsible & Accountable Driving Level I (Teen or Adult)
Responsible & Accountable Driving Level I Class (Teen or Adult) integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with specific tools to challenge poor driving behaviors, including violation of road rules and road rage. Specific road awareness education and driving tips are provided.

Substance Abuse (Teen or Adult)
Substance Abuse Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with understanding of rationalizations and other defense mechanisms driving poly-substance use and abuse, honest self-assessment, impact of poly-substance use, brain development, ‘group thinking,’ freedom challenge, identifying sobriety team, and creating relapse prevention plans.

Triple R: Rationality, Responsibility & Resolution (Teen or Adult)
Triple R: Rationality, Responsibility & Resolution Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with a Rational explanation of attendee’s behavior intended to shift attendee from external to internal locus of control, a Responsibility Tool-Set that includes stress management tips, anger management tips, and interpersonal skill-building tools, and Resolution to create goals and outline specific steps toward goal-attainment.

Victim Empathy (Teen or Adult)
Victim Empathy Class integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with awareness exercises designed to help attendees understand impact of poor choices on self, others, and community. Alternatives to Aggression (Teen or Adult)
Alternatives to Aggression integrates NIC’s unique Model (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, and Exposure Therapy) with understanding of rationalizations and other defense mechanisms driving aggression, honest self-assessment, impact of decisions on self, others and community, and replacing aggression with stress management skills, interpersonal skills, and self-efficacy skills. As state approved Domestic Violence providers, we do NOT offer assistance to DV clients thru a one day class but rather through our ongoing groups.
